Dr.Facen’s Weekly Parent Newsletter

Happy Monday, Pioneer families! I hope this note finds you well and that you enjoyed a restful weekend. We have a full and exciting week ahead, and I wanted to share some updates with you.

Celebrating Our Community

Last week, our school was featured in a Booking.com commercial shoot right here in our gym! The production crew, cast, and our own students were incredible. It was such a joy to showcase the beauty of our campus, and we’re excited to share photos with you soon.

🔵 Academic Updates 🟡

E-Learning Days

On Friday, students participated in an e-learning day. Thank you for encouraging your students to complete their assignments at home. These days are designed to keep learning moving forward, and we are grateful for your partnership in making sure students stay on track.

Performance Choir

On Monday, August 18, and Tuesday, August 19, our Performance Choir students will be out of class to rehearse and perform in a very special event. Teachers are posting assignments to Google Classroom so students don’t fall behind.

🔵 Important Reminders 🟡

Registration Paperwork: Please submit any outstanding registration paperwork to the main office as soon as possible. Having all documents in helps us best support your child and ensures a smooth start to the year.

Uniform Policy: Starting September 1, all students must be in full uniform, including a branded St. Francis de Sales collared shirt.

— If a student arrives out of uniform, they will either need to purchase a shirt from the school store or a parent/guardian will be required to pick them up.

— It is imperative that students come ready to learn, dressed for success, and representing our Pioneer pride each day.

Detentions: Beginning Tuesday, August 19, detentions will be served during zero period.

— Students have three school days to serve a detention once it is issued.

— If not served within that window, the consequence will double. Please encourage your student to serve promptly.

Cell Phones: Phones should be put away during class so students remain focused and engaged.

🔵 Upcoming Events 🟡

Join us on Thursday, August 28, from 4–7 PM for the Soft opening of our new student-run food pantry.

Back-to-School Night 6pm
-Important updates and expectations for the 2025–2026 school year.

-Meet our new staff and connect with the community.

We strongly encourage all families to attend this important evening.

Parent Club Meeting

Please join us on Friday, August 29, at 6:30 PM. Parent Club is how we bring the village together—strengthening communication, organizing volunteer efforts,

and supporting events, fundraising, and family engagement. Your presence and voice help ensure every student is seen, supported, and successful.

School Supply Competition

To kick off the year, students are partaking in a class competition to collect school supplies!

— The class that brings in the most supplies will earn an out-of-uniform day and a pizza party!

— A supply list is attached to this newsletter.

— You can also order directly through our Amazon Wish List.

— If you choose this option, please include your student’s full name and grade so they get credit for their class.

🔵 Quote of the Week 🟡

“I’m not superstitious… but I am a little stitious.” — Michael Scott

(A little humor to remind us that small habits—like uniforms, punctuality, and focus—add up to big success!)

Thank you for entrusting us with your children. We are proud of the work we’re doing together to make this school year one of the best yet.

With gratitude,

Dr. Roni-Nicole Facen
