Drake dropped his 8th studio album called “All the Dogs” on October 6th, and to put it simply, it’s straight fire from start to finish.
Drake, who has sold over 170 million records throughout his career, doesn’t disappoint with this long awaited release. The album was promoted by the release of 2 quality singles , the lead of which was “Slime You Out”, featuring SZA, and debuting at number one on the Billboard Hot 100. The song thus far has nearly 33 million streams on Spotify.
The second single of the album, “8AM in Charlotte”, was released on October 5, 2023, with a video (see below) being released as well.
The album features a ton of all-star appearances, including Chief Keef, Bad Bunny, 21 Savage, J Cole, Lil Yachty, Teezo Touchdown, Party Next Door, and Sexxy Red. Not surprisingly, the response to the album has thus far been strong, In its first week the album had 514 million streams (good for 4th highest of all time) and sold 402,000 units. So far this album is number 1 on the charts and both Drake’s songs IDGAF and First Person Shooter are tied for number one on the top 100 songs.
Personally my favorite song on the album is “First Person Shooter” featuring J. Cole. The beat drop is very cool and the sample that Drake uses in the song is very catchy.
So if you haven’t yet, go check out “For the Dogs”, and hopefully you appreciate it, because according to Drake he won’t be making another album for 2-3 years.
