Kollin’s Album Recommendation: “Utopia” by Travis Scott

By Kollin Dorsey ’27

After waiting 5 long years, Travis Scott released his 4th studio album, “Utopia”, this past July, and put simply, it was worth the wait.

The album features many notable guest names, including  Drake (“Meltdown”) , 21 Savage, (“Topia Twins) Playboy Carti(“Fe!n”), Bad Bunny (“K-Pop”) and Beyonce (“Delresto (Echoes)”).  While all these songs are certainly memorable in their own way, to me the highlight on the album is “Thank God”; the beat drop was very cool and the lyrics match up perfectly with the melody (video attached).

“Got God on the line
Tell the devil I’m fine
He always tryin’
Tryin’
his best (no question)”

“Thank God”

The album was in the top 100 for four weeks in a row and had numerous songs chart in the top 100. The album to me will go down as Travis Scott’s best album better, even than Days Before Rodeo. Ultimately this album will help cement Travis Scott as one of my top 10 favorite rappers ever, and certainly one of best rappers out there today.
