The Woman I Admire Most

by Lance Walton ’25

The woman I admire the most in life would definitely have to be my sister Ciara, as she has always been my biggest supporter and is always there for me.

Ever since I could remember my sister has always been a hero for me in many ways. I’m inspired by her to even try to adapt some of the attributes that she has that makes such a great person. For example my sister has such a big heart and is a very caring and loving person who I feel like even had too much compassion for others. Furthermore, despite all that she’s been through, Ciara has never let anyone change her heart or take who she is away from her. If I’m being completely honest my sister is the only reason I’m even able to live and breathe, saving my life on multiple occasions where I was feeling depressed and unmotivated, and even hopeless.

My sister is also the first person in my family to go to college and is still reaching for her dreams to this day. She’s paved the way for me and my entire family to prove we can even go to college or get accepted into one. Even I’m my times of failure and insecurity, she’s been an outlet for me to express myself freely and to talk things out instead of bottling it inside and destroying myself without realizing it.

Simply, my sister is my best friend and guiding light that allows me to continue to move forward in this shady and dark world.
