You may think you know Principal Facen, but you have no idea! From 92 Jeep Cherokees to thinking she may have messed up her interview for the principal job, this interview was full of fun and interesting surprises!
Do you have a weird food combo that you like?
Yes, I do have a weird thing that I like a lot that is very odd, and they don’t go together. When I go to the michoacana, I’ll get an elote and a chocolate shake, and eat them together. I don’t know why I love that, but that’s my jam!
What is your heartbreak song?
It’s called “Nobody’s Supposed to Be Here”, by Deborah Cox, it’s my sad jam, its a old school 90’s song.
What was your first car?
My first car was a old 92’ Jeep Cherokee! I thought it was pretty cool. After that my mom bought me a little pocket rocket, a G5, a black Pontiac G5, got it when Fast and Furious was coming out, so I went to Mike’s Tint Shop and got the windows tinted, thought I was hot stuff! The first car I bought myself was a Cadillac CTS, I was 22 years old. My father went with me to go and get it, and he and I raced all the way home.
What is your honest review of you in Highschool and College?
I’m going to be honest with you, high school for me was like a movie, like back then I dated the captain of the football team, and I don’t know i’m not going to say I was the most popular girl in school, but like some people knew me, but it was dope for me and the crew that ran with, however I did not have a crazy college experience, If i had to do it all over again, I would of stayed on campus, I would of joined a sorority, I wish I could have gone to a bigger University, but I really just went to work, went to school and helped my family out.
What’s the weirdest job you had?
I sold diamonds, like wholesale diamonds. Diamonds are up by 200%, so when you buy diamonds at a store it isn’t the real price of a diamond. I worked at Jewelers Rowe at E.M Trading, this was right out of college because I couldn’t find a job as a teacher, and so I went into sales for a little bit. I was first into diamond sales, then car sales, rental cars and we would provide cars for movies and tv shows around Chicago like Chicago Fire, Chicago P.D , Empire, Nashville, Jupiter Descending, Shameless.
What was your first impression of coming back to Saint Francis?
This is going to be a lot of work, but I also love this place and love my community, so coming home was everything I wanted, being so close to my home and serving my community I love and care about was all I ever wanted, like I wanted this job badly.
What was your job interview here like?
I put my foot in my mouth, during my interview they told me they interviewed more people with more experience, why should we pick you? I said because I don’t need this job, which is not what you should say. They were going to promote me to my district that I’m currently at, so if you want me that’s great and if not that’s ok too. My mom was yelling at me about it, but they called me 24 hours later asking if I wanted the job and I said yes.
