“It takes a village” to raise a child as well as as run a school, and a vital part of our village is our amazing maintenance engineer, Mr. Alfredo Ramirez. Let’s get to know a bit more about him:
So what do you do Alfredo?
“Basically I am a maintenance engineer for the school, I clean and make sure things are open and ready for the kids and staff as they enter the building. Make sure the boilers are up and running, do some light fixtures, move things around, etc.”
What are your thoughts on the people and building of St.Francis?
“I feel at home, comfortable, everybody feels very friendly, it’s a different vibe for me for being here for a little while, but other than that the students are as fun as the teachers, just fun and pretty chill.”
What do you do outside of school?
“I just go home, be with the family, I play basketball in the gym afterschool from time to time for exercise, but other than that I go home, I have a little baby named Gabriel and my wife Lauren and we just chill and relax ourselves for the next day.”
What type of music do you like?
“I like R&B and Soul, R-Kelly, The Temptations, the guy who sings the Ring of Fire (Johnny Cash), but nowadays I listen to military songs when I’m playing basketball to get me in the mood, and it keeps me going.”
What are your favorite things to do?
“I love to spend time with my family, because no matter how much you work or how much you feel left out, family is always going to be there to lift you no matter what. No matter what kind of rough day you have, family will be there to help you and relax you, by blood or not, like here. The students and teachers are not my blood family but they make me feel at home.”
