Five things I liked

Characters finally squash their beefs! Specifically, after seasons of drama and endless fights, Miguel and Robby fight it out one last time, and end up bonding as a result.
More familiar faces returned from the Karate Kid franchise! For example, the character Matt Barnes plays an important role in how the story plays out. Also, the character Jessica Andrews returns as well.
Johnny and Carmen are having a baby! This is a huge sign of growth for Johnny, and he immediately begins preparing for life as a father to a newborn.
How the 3 “good guy” senseis, who each have different styles, personalities and approaches, work together to fight back against Silver.
And last but certainly not least—-Robby!
Five things I didn’t like

The long awaited trip to Mexico was rushed. So Miguel goes to Mexico in search of his father—and Johnny and Robby aren’t far behind, but despite this strong setup, this story ends up rushed and finishing abruptly. Why not show some scenes of their journey home? Show some bonding between the three?
Speaking of the Mexico trip, how did Miguel’s father go from seemingly perfect dad, to Scarface in like, 2 minutes.
Unnecessary and unbelievable drama. Why wouldn’t Tory just explain everything to Devon? Why wouldn’t Robby do the same with Kenny? I know we need drama, but some of it seemed too forced and unnecessary.
A tube race for control of the water park? So the dojos are arguing and fighting as usual–this time at a water park. Then, somehow, they all agree to settle it with……..a tube race between Eli and Tory. What?
That it’s over again! For any minor issues or complaints I may have, season 5 was really enjoyable, and possibly the best thus far, and now I and all fans have to wait more than a year again for more 😦 !
